How the trust began, what it is for, and the idea of seva behind it.
Who we are
Sri Sri Jagannath Seva Trust is a registered charitable trust based at Anandpally, Purba Putiary in south Kolkata. It is registered under number 190201008/2024 and holds 80G and 12A approval, so donations to it are eligible for income tax relief.
The trust describes its own work simply: our way to help poor people. In practice that means food, children’s education, care of cows, and training so that women can earn.
The idea of seva
In the Jagannath tradition, service is not separate from worship — it is worship. Feeding someone, teaching a child, caring for an animal are all offerings, and are meant to be done without display.
